The well-known Norwegian historian and author Mr. Tor Bomann-Larsen was at the Lorange Institute of Business on September 18.
Around 50 persons from the Nordic Clubs in Switzerland attended his presentation, including his Excellency Mr. Rolf Trole Andersen, Norway’s Ambassador to Switzerland.
Mr. Bomann-Larsen covered two major discoveries in the Polar Regions by the pioneers F. Nansen and R. Amundsen:
Nansen’s crossing of Greenland as the first human being to do this, his 3-year voyage with the polar ship Fram drifting across the polar ocean from Siberia to Greenland.
Amundsen’s conquering of the South Pole in December 1911, as the first human being to reach the worlds southernmost point. A major success factor of these three successful expeditions was full commitment, full speed forward, and no returns!
Today’s corporations and business leaders can learn from this full speed ahead, with total commitment.
