Would you believe how happy I am if I just told you that we will start a cooperation with MIM, the reputed Ukrainian business school „International Management Institute“? You probably wouldn’t. That’s why I show you this picture.
Last week a Ukrainian delegation, lead by the owner Dr. Vitaly Gayduk and its president, Irina Tykhomyrova, travelled to Horgen. There you see us in the boardroom (which I usually never use, I rather sit in the lobby) and are just really happy to have signed the cooperation.
In the future, selected students from Kyiv will come to the Lorange Institute and study certain modules here in order to achieve a double degree. This is an important step for students from Easter Europe to gain a foothold in Western Europe and for us, it is also an important step because we enlarge our network dramatically.
MIM-Kyiv was established in 1989 at the initiative of Bohdan D. Hawrylyshyn, a prominent scientist, philosopher and public figure. Imagine, that was the year of the fall of the Berlin Wall, and they have had an MBA program since 1990! MIM was a joint venture of the International Management Institute, Geneva (later IMD) Switzerland (I have been president of IMD for 16 years), and the Institute of Economics of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. It was the first business school in CIS countries and it started in Kyiv!
I would like to express my gratitude to all people involved in that process, especially my team here in Horgen with my COO, Philipp Boksberger, and the whole organization in Kyiv.
